چکیده

Abstract Aim Popliteal artery aneurysms (PAAs) are increasingly treated via an endovascular approach. We present mid-term outcomes of popliteal aneurysm repair (PEVAR) from a single centre. Method A retrospective analysis prospective database consecutive patients who underwent either elective or emergency PEVAR in regional vascular centre January 2010 to August 2020. The placement heparin-bonded stent-graft (Viabahn Endoprosthesis, WL Gore and Associates, Flagstaff, USA) for PAA >20mm complications: thromboembolism, rupture vein thrombosis. Patency related complications were assessed. Results total 64 PAAs (mean size 36.8±13.4mm) 56 age 75±10.7 years, 54 (96%) male). Median follow-up was 29.5 months (IQR 36.75). 30-day mortality 0%. Technical success rate insertion 100%. 1-year 5-year primary patency 83% 67% respectively; primary-assisted at these time points 86% 72%, the corresponding secondary 89% 75%. 61 out limbs had >1 vessel runoff. most frequently occurring complication occlusion which affected 11 (17%) limbs. Stent-graft fracture occurred 1 patient, resulting endoleak. Conclusions Viabahn Endoprosthesis can be used successfully treatment with acceptable short- rates. One five this cohort required reintervention, first year postoperatively. only one patient demonstrating that is safe option management intermediate term.

Endovascular treatment of popliteal artery aneurysms.

OBJECTIVE To present the results of the endovascular treatment of popliteal artery aneurysms. METHODS From April 1999 to January 2002, 11 patients, aged 40-94 years, with 12 popliteal aneurysms were treated. Nine (75%) underwent an endoluminal repair, of whom three were done emergently due to an aneurysm rupture. Aneurysm diameter was 28-105 (mean 69) mm. A Hemobahn stent graft was inserted i...

Endovascular Repair of Ruptured Popliteal Artery Aneurysms: A Case Report and Review of the Literature

OBJECTIVE/BACKGROUND The objectives were to report the management and outcomes of a 96-year-old man who presented with an acutely swollen right leg due to a ruptured popliteal aneurysm, and to review the relevant literature. METHODS A ruptured popliteal artery aneurysm is a rare diagnosis and is one that is often missed at time of presentation. Previous case reports have documented successful...

Expansion rates of asymptomatic popliteal artery aneurysms.

OBJECTIVES In the absence of symptoms the decision to operate on popliteal artery aneurysms (PA) is often made on PA diameter. Little information exists on growth rate and therefore optimum scanning intervals. The aim of this paper is to define growth rate of PA managed conservatively. METHODS A prospective study of patients with asymptomatic PA was carried out. Patients were invited for ultr...

Repair of juxtarenal para-anastomotic aortic aneurysms after previous open repair with fenestrated and branched endovascular stent grafts.

Three patients with juxtarenal para-anastomotic aortic aneurysms after previous open abdominal aortic aneurysm repair were treated with custom-designed fenestrated and branched Zenith endovascular stent grafts. Six renal arteries and two superior mesenteric arteries were targeted for incorporation by graft fenestrations and branches. The fenestration/renal ostium interface was secured with ball...

Mid-term results after endovascular repair of abdominal aortic aneurysms: a four-year experience.

OBJECTIVES The purpose of this retrospective, single-institution study is to describe a 4-year experience of examining early and late clinical outcomes after endovascular repair of abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA). MATERIALS AND METHODS Between October 1998 and January 2003, 455 patients were submitted for AAA treatment, of whom 269 underwent open repair and 186 were treated with an endovascul...
